As well as being a dedicated father of three young Brisbane boys, Dion John Hunt is the owner and operator of a uniquely abled artist, event and support service agency, and also a twenty-year veteran of the Brisbane DJ nightlife scene.
Why He’s Running for Griffith
Over the past five years, the people of Australia have experienced first-hand the dangers of government overreach. During and after the COVID-19 lockdowns and mandates it became increasingly apparent that the major parties on both sides of the political spectrum did not just make policy missteps; but instead began a full-scale assault on the freedoms of choice, bodily autonomy, and basic human rights that many Australians have almost forgotten ever existed. Mr Hunt was just one of the countless number of Aussies who lost their jobs, businesses, homes, and connection to friends and family within the community. Not because of a virus, but because of a fear driven narrative propagated by the state sponsored media and a political and bureaucratic system that treated everyday citizens as subjects rather than sovereign individuals.
Determined to push back against this encroachment on fundamental rights, DJH is running a campaign as means to hold truth to power, advocate for real freedom, and restore the rights currently being withheld from the people of Australia. He believes that the Constitution, common law, and human rights should not be trampled by unelected bureaucrats or by politicians who are too drunk with ego and power to truly represent the will of their constituents. Without immediate action, future generations risk inheriting a technocratic surveillance state that bears more resemblance to communism or fascism than the free and lucky country our most recent Ancestors fought and died to protect.
