Rebuild Australia with our own Infrastructure Bank and People.

To get Australia heading in the right direction, we must build and own our Infrastructure.
Australia should not rely on foreign capital to fund its own infrastructure. Corporations issue new equity to fund new projects or acquisitions. The Australian government should fund itself by issuing new equity against new infrastructure projects.
The process to do this is via an Infrastructure Bank that issues bonds to the Federal and State Government for seven types of Infrastructure – Dams, Baseload Power Stations (not renewables), Roads, Rail, Ports, Airports and Telecommunications.
The construction of Infrastructure will help alleviate inflation as more dams and power stations will drive down the cost of energy and water. The Infrastructure Bank should be seen as an alternative way to deal with inflation instead of manipulating the price of money which does nothing to improve productivity.
The profits from the Infrastructure Bank can be used to fund other capital works across the country.
People First will also reintroduce the military apprenticeship scheme to encourage more young people back into trades and provide the skills and resources to both build and maintain Australia’s infrastructure.
The People First Party believes that Australia’s military capabilities should not sit idle when they can be strategically used to rebuild our nation. The Australian Defence Force (ADF) already has world-class engineers, construction assets, and logistics capabilities—yet, instead of using them for national development, they are often underutilized outside of deployments and disaster response.
Rather than outsourcing expensive contracts to foreign-owned companies or leaving critical infrastructure projects stalled, we will put ADF engineers and assets to work for Australia.
People First will provide transition pathways for ADF personnel into civilian construction, engineering, and trade industries, ensuring long-term career opportunities for our veterans.
Why This Matters
Australia is falling behind on critical infrastructure, especially in regional and remote areas. The ADF has the tools, personnel, and expertise to fill this gap—yet our politicians fail to use them effectively.
This policy ensures that:
- Taxpayer-funded ADF assets are used to benefit Australians first
- Infrastructure projects are built efficiently and affordably
- Our defence forces gain real-world construction experience while strengthening national resilience
- Australia’s security and self-sufficiency are reinforced
The People First Party will put Australian resources to work for Australians—delivering a stronger nation, better infrastructure, and a more capable defence force.
It’s Time to Rebuild. It’s Time to Put Australia First.
