Energy Policy
People First supports the use of energy sourced from within Australia that is Australian owned; this includes Coal, Nuclear, Gas and Hydro.
People First will abolish subsidies for renewables.
People First will legislate that all Renewable projects post an Environmental Bond to cover remedial costs at the end of the projects life.
People First will drop all Net Zero commitments and leave the Paris Agreement.
People First will abolish the Petroleum Resource Rent Tax on offshore gas and instead replace it with a flat 10% royalty. In accordance with our overall tax position on the taxation of offshore profits, any related party profits transferred offshore such as interest, royalties and rent will have a withholding tax of 25% applied. Final profit before tax will be taxed at the standard 30 cents.
People First will encourage State Governments to have an oil and gas reservation policy to ensure Australians can meet their domestic needs.
People First will create an Infrastructure Bank that can fund State Governments building new baseload power stations using Coal, Nuclear, Gas and Hydro energy.
Energy markets will be required to sell Energy in 24 hour bids rather than 5-30 minute bids.
People First will remove all funding and references to Climate Change and undertake an education campaign focused on the laws of physics.
