John Armfield is a highly decorated former Royal Australian Navy Clearance Diver, dedicated community volunteer, and passionate advocate for truth, accountability, and justice. Born and raised on the Gold Coast, John understands the challenges and aspirations of the people of Fadden and is committed to putting them first.
John is married to Phoebe, a Gold Coast small business owner and women’s health physiotherapist, and a proud father of two young boys, aged 4 and 6. His family is at the heart of everything he does, and they are his greatest motivation in his fight for a better future for the community.
Service and Leadership
John joined the Royal Australian Navy in 2003, where he completed some of the most demanding and rigorous training in the Australian Defence Force, including specialist Clearance Diver courses, Explosive Ordnance Disposal, and leadership training. Over 20 years of service, he was promoted to Petty Officer, leading specialist teams in high-risk operations across the Middle East and humanitarian missions throughout the Pacific.
John’s leadership was forged in high-pressure environments, requiring strategic planning, critical decision-making, and teamwork with multinational forces. His ability to remain calm under pressure and lead through uncertainty earned him respect across Defence and international partners.

As a lifelong Gold Coaster, former lifeguard, and a dedicated volunteer lifesaver for over 30 years, John is committed to fighting for everyday Australians—protecting their freedoms, ensuring economic security, and standing against bureaucratic overreach.
