A HARD WORKER

Justin McGuiness started his career with a passion for mechanics by completing an Automotive Mechanical Apprenticeship in 2000. During this time, he worked second and third jobs to support himself, including roles with a catering company and at the TAB.

In 2001, Justin and his wife, Lisa, purchased their first home together. The couple married in 2003 and began to build their family. Their first daughter, April, was born in 2004, followed by their son, Mitchell, in 2006, and their youngest daughter, Lily, in 2008.

A love for family

Outside of work, Justin enjoys spending quality time with his family. He shares a special bond with his son, Mitchell, and the two love tinkering with old cars and motorcycles. They often ride and drive the vehicles they restore together.

Justin and Lisa also share a passion for gardening, particularly growing their own vegetables. With a goal of becoming more self-sufficient, the couple hopes to live a simple, sustainable lifestyle in the future.

As a family, the McGuinesses enjoy attending live concerts and visiting smaller music venues. These outings are an important way for them to bond and create lasting memories together. Justin’s life has been a journey of hard work, resilience, and a deep commitment to his family and passions.

Striving for Success

As the family grew, so did Justin’s career. He worked as a mechanic until 2005, then transitioned into a new role as a manufacturing fitter at Joy Mining, where he worked for the next decade. Unfortunately, in 2015, Justin was made redundant when the company restructured.

Undeterred by the setback, Justin worked as a contractor for Integral Energy as a field officer before relocating to the Gold Coast in 2017. In 2018, he began managing Mattocks Road Tyre and Auto at Varsity Lakes, where he has continued to thrive in the automotive industry. This new job allows him to interact with the local community in Wright and to gain connection to their issues, giving him an edge in the political world.
