Keep bank branches open

The Commonwealth Bank has recently announced a number of its branches will close throughout metropolitan Australia.

Banks have a social licence to keep branches open so that Australians can access banking services at a face to face level.

Many Australians rely on accessing bank branches so they can deposit cash, get help with bank products, setup bank accounts and change signatories.

Many older Australians are not confident using the internet to do their banking, especially in light of the large number of online scams that are circulating.

People First has long called for branches to remain open. Party President, Gerard Rennick instigated a Senate Inquiry into the closure of Bank branches in the regions.

One of People First's key policies is to establish a Public Bank that will have the largest branch network in Australia, so that all Australians can access to banking services.

Please sign our petition and consider the joining the party at peoplefirstparty.au so that together we can force the government into establishing a public bank.
